Job Description

Lucas Professional Search Group is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager for a global manufacturing facility in Sarnia, Ontario. This position will be responsible for establishing and supervising the Quality Management System and H&S Programs. Provide accurate, technical and regulatory information to customers, sales staff and engineering staff. The position offers a competitve salary and relocation package. 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and improve the Quality Management System, supervise the operation, and carry out the Quality policy and objectives
  • Responsible for inspector training
  • Control the anomalous quality, analyze the quality, and improve the staff’s quality consciousness; collect and analyze Quality data; take charge of daily quality report forms               
  • Promote the Quality Management System and H&S Certification at all levels and at all Canadian locations
  • Take charge of Quality and H&S Departments daily management
  • Serve in the capacity of Auditor of Facilities
  • Train employees in compliance to Company’s EH&S policies
  • Coordinate and gather information concerning incidents involving company products
  • As Company’s technical expert on all current applicable federal, provincial and local laws regulating EH&S; responsible for creating, implementing, developing and maintenance of programs to insure Company compliance
  • Work with Plant Managers, Branch Managers and other personnel to respond to customer inquiries for safety and regulatory compliance
  • Create culture of safety through communication and training programs that can be implemented at all Canadian locations
  • Act as company spokesperson to customers and maintain accurate customer safety contract requirements; coordinates reporting for sales department
  • Stays current on latest process developments to keep Company informed of ways to reduce impact on environment
  • Manage the Waste Water and Pollution Plans
  • Develop reports to bring to management’s attention i.e. problem areas that need correction; ensure all facilities maintain current and accurate data as required by regulations

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Mechanical engineering or higher; or have equivalent work experience
  • 2-10 years’ experience in technical and quality functions
  • Must have a strong sense of quality and consistently adhere to the principles for meeting the customers’ requirements
  • Must possess strong team leadership, management, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Completed a Lead Auditor Training Course (preferred)
  • Microsoft windows and MS Office (latest updated version)
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and climb. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs., on a regular basis, cannot be colour blind; visual acuity corrected to 20/20\
