Job Description

Lucas Professional Group is recruiting for a Director of Human Resources to join a progressive and growing global company.  The Director of Human Resources will act as a business partner to the organization. Some of the responsibilities would include creating, planning and executing of strategies, policies and procedures. This position will be based in Leamington, On and offers a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement employee relations and human resources strategy and initiatives
  • Design, develop and implement policies, practices, processes and initiatives to promote employee recognition, retention and engagement
  • Maintain a high level of contact and visibility with employees at all levels to foster positive work relations
  • Coach Managers and leaders to aid in developing leadership and management capabilities
  • Take ownership of the new employee onboarding process
  • Provide employees and managers with advice on employee relations issues
  • Ensure organizational compliance with federal and provincial laws, including Health and Safety
  • Plan and oversee the HR department’s budget
  • Compile and analyze data for trends
  • Report on recruiting initiatives; including fill-rate, new hire retention, tactic effectiveness and recruiting SLA’s
  • Establish and maintain company employment policies and procedures
  • Partner with leaders to ensure the annual goal setting and performance management process are complete
  • Provide consultation to the management team on compensation, benefits, budget and labour relations
  • Participate in the design and implementation of employee and management training and development
  • Take leadership in ensuring that a positive work environment is enforced and carried out regularly
  • Develop and manage processes to promote internal employee communications
  • Ensure HR compliance with local and global laws; guiding any/all office expansions
  • Track, monitor, and communicate performance against HR objectives
  • Develop KPI’s with customer centric focus
  • Develop communication and presentation materials; present to employees at all levels and functions
  • Ensure initiatives and policies are effectively and regularly communicated
  • Collaborate with others to promote and develop initiatives for positive community relations, and volunteerism
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in business, human resources, law, organization development/behavior, psychology or related field or combination of learning and equivalent experience
  • CHRP, CHRL or CHRE is preferred
  • A minimum of 15 years experience in progressive HR Management roles
  • Health and Safety designation is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of all HR functional areas including talent management, recruiting, on boarding, training and development, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and regulations and industry best practices both domestic and international
  • A passion to help with the growth of an organization and ability to work in a team environment for a “joint effort”
  • Extrovert personality that radiates positive energy
  • Experience with various recruiting tools such as LinkedIN, Indeed and other candidate sourcing technology
  • Detail oriented individual with a passion for implementation in all HR areas
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, high-energy environment
